The Connecting Wiltshire website aims to simplify travel by providing information on ways to travel that will hopefully save time and money whilst also improving wellbeing and with consideration for the local environment. It does this by encouraging the use of public transport such as trains and buses and sustainable transport - walking and cycling. Twice-yearly General Meetings are held with speakers from government agencies and the transport industry.

For a car free way of getting out and enjoying the countryside, experienced volunteer members of the Ramblers' Association lead walks of between 3 and 15 miles begining from stations along the "Heart of Wessex" line. Walks are arranged in the Summer months and are free to join. Further details and program of walks can be found on the website.

It provides real time train running information acquired from open train movement data from network rail and other sources. It allows you to check the progress in real time of the train you are planning on catching and check platform information.
