Warminster Station
![]() •History: Opened in 1851 as a Broad Gauge branch by GWR. Extended 5 years later to Salisbury. •Location: 300 yards north of Warminster Town centre at the end of Station Road. •Getting tickets: Booking office open 6.50 to 1800 weekdays, 6.50 to 1800 Saturdays and closed on Sunday. Self-service automated ticket machines on each platform. •Services: Trains from FGW and SWT. Regular services to Cardiff, Portsmouth Harbour, Bristol Temple Meads, Bath Spa, Salisbury and Southampton. There are also two trains a day to/from London Waterloo direct. via South West Trains ![]() •Access: Main access is south from the town centre by foot, cycle or car. Cycle racks are provided in the forecourt and on the station platforms. Pedestrian and cycle access from the north coming from Copheap hill and estates to the north of the town. The Army’s School of Infantry is to the north. Main station car park to the north of the station accessed via underbridge. There is a taxi office within the station. Disabled passengers are given due and proper procedure when arriving or departing. Level access to westbound platform but eastbound passengers must first access the main car park and then a steep ramp to the platform •Info systems: Monitor screens showing train times on both platforms. Help at the ticket office. No direct passenger telephone helpline; nearest public telephone 50 yards away in Station Road. Station and car park fully covered by CCTV. Warminster Police station is 100yds away in Station Road. Station has category 2 security status because of its regular use by the military. •Toilets: Ladies's and Gentlemen's toilets in the station buildings but only during booking office hours. Nearest public toilet 100 yards away in Warminster town central car park. Walk south of station taking the first road to the right 50 yards along Station Road.
