The West Wiltshire Rail Users Group (know as WWRUG) gives a voice to West Wiltshire Rail Users on timetables and their concerns about the general service.

Public Events for the Autumn 2010 Season:
We have three events for members and their friends/family. Each is free. Please try to make these LIVE events:-
Friday 17th September 2010, starts 1930 at Bridge House Trowbridge. Presentation and Q&A by GO! CO-OPERATIVE. Chairman Tom Pearce will do the presentation for this exciting new railway company that may serve our Wiltshire Stations.

Saturday 16th October 2010 starting at 8.45am at Freshford Station our 21st Anniversary RAIL RAMBLE. Rob brown will lead this linear walk of 1.5/3miles from Freshford Station to Bradford on Avon via Avoncliff following lanes, fields, footpaths and canal towpath. Details in the September Newsletter or ring Rob on 01225 864221.

Friday 29th October 2010 starting 1930 at Dewey House, Warminster: RAILWAYS UNDER A COALITION GOVERNMENT. Presentation and Q&A by Dr Andrew Murrison MP. What is the future of railways nationally and how will this affect West Wiltshire?

Details of WWRUG


The West Wiltshire Rail Users Group know as WWRUG was formed in 1989 to give a voice to West Wiltshire Rail Users on timetables and level of service and fares on our railway network. Membership is open to all and costs £5 a year to cover printing and postage. Members receive four newsletters a year and there are four Public Meetings each year three of which are on 'burning issues of the day' and one being the Annual General Meeting. Currently there are 102 members.

WWRUG is funded by members subscriptions and has no subsidy from any Government Agency or Public or Private Company

WWRUG has a written constitution. Copies of which may be obtained for the Secretary.

The Committee holds bi-monthly meetings in different Towns in West Wiltshire for which they have a representative member from each of Towns in West Wiltshire. They are listed on our Contact page.


Objectives of WWRUG


To improve the level of rail facilities and services in West Wiltshire and rail services that have an impact on West Wiltshire.

To liaise with the rail industry

To raise public awareness of the rail network and to stimulate it's greater use.

To be represented at appropriate meetings of outside organisations.

To provide a forum for rail passengers
